Milling demonstrations are held every Sunday during the season and visitors can purchase the flour. The site is situated on the fringe of the highly picturesque village of Houghton, with a wealth of timbered and thatched-roof cottages, pub and shops, and the whole surrounding area is a paradise for walkers, bird watchers and wildlife enthusiasts. There is an abundance of footpaths and bridleways for walkers, horse riders and cyclists along and across the proliferation of waterways.
