- A slightly sloping open site ten minutes walk from the historic town of Caernarfon, with views of the famous castle as you approach. There's plenty to do here. You will be inevitably drawn to Snowdon, walking it under your own steam, or taking the Mountain Railway (rack and pinion) to the top. Or you may get no further than Llanberis at the foot of Snowdon, which has put itself at the disposal of the visitor with a whole range of activities, from the lake railway to the water-based activities on Llyn Padarn or a visit to Dolbadarn Castle. Ride deep inside Elidir Mountain, to the superb modern Dinorwig Power Station. Your trip underground will be preceded by a fantastic sound, vision and special effects show.
