Cheddar, Mendip Heights Club Site is at the heart of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty – the Mendip Hills. Midway between Cheddar Gorge and Wells, there is something for everyone here.
Priddy village is half a mile from Site. There are a couple of pubs serving food and an annual Sheep Fair in August. The Cheddar Gorge Cheese Company is the only cheese-making factory actually in Cheddar. Cheddar Gorge is a limestone gorge. It has several walks around it, some are very challenging. Many local caves are open to the public. Britain’s oldest skeleton was found in Gough’s Cave. The most famous is Wookey Hole. The Georgian city of Bath has its Roman Baths and Pump Rooms. Wells – England’s smallest city – is a few miles away. Visit the 12th century cathedral and Vicar’s Close. Axbridge and District Museum shows the history and geology of the Cheddar area. Weston-super-Mare is home to the world’s largest museum dedicated to the helicopter. Court Farm Country Park has two large indoor play areas as well as many animals. Allow at least 45 minutes from junction 22 of the M5 motorway. From A39 and B3135 junction at Green Ore it is 41/2 miles to left turn to Site.
Some pitches are slightly sloping. There is a well stocked licensed shop on site selling local prodcue, including beef, cheese, eggs and cider.
