- The rolling hills and farmland of Ayrshire are best known for being the birthplace and home of poet, Robert Burns. Parts of the coast comprise attractive sandy beaches and low cliffs overlooking the mountainous island of Arran.
There are famous golf courses at Troon and Turnberry and it was at Prestwick Golf Club that the British Open was initiated in 1860.

- From the North Take the A77 towards Stranraer. Then 2nd right after Bankfield roundabout, south of Ayr. At Doonholm Road take a left, then right into Greenfield Avenue. Left at next junction and then follow Craig Tara signs.
From the South M74 exit at juntion 12 onto the A70 towards Cumnock. Follow signs for Ayr. Go south towards Stranraer. Then as above from Bankfield roundabaout.
The nearest train and bus station is in Ayr about 4 miles from the Park. There is an hourly bus service from the station to the Park.See also: MultiMap
