Tewkesbury Abbey Caravan Club Site
- Description
- One of the most impressively located sites on the network, only a short walk from the old town, it is almost in the shadow of the ancient Abbey, with superb mature trees screening it. You can explore the old town on foot - there are many historic buildings, and interesting walks from the site, as well as some excellent museums. On Wednesdays and Saturdays you can track down the odd bargain or two at the market. You can walk the Battle Trail too, commemorating the famous battle in the Wars of the Roses (1471). You can also take a boat cruise on the river, leaving from the Old Mill to explore the Avon. A marvellous tounng centre, the Cotswold villages of Broadway, Winchcombe and Moreton-in-Marsh are within easy driving distance as are the Malvern Hills and the Forest of Dean.
