Normanhurst Court Caravan Club Site
- Description
- A gracious site in a former garden with splendid specimen trees and shrubs - the rhododendrons are lovely in Spring. There are open areas for pitching and views to the distant Downs. This is the most delightful area of East Sussex with narrow winding lanes leading to tiny intimate villages, each with its own church and pub, and always the presence of the South Downs not far distant, inviting you to stretch your legs and admire the views. Discerning families choose this site during rhe summer months when the crowds make for the beaches and forget about the inland sites. Battle Abbey stands on the site of the actual Battle of Hastings next to Buckleys Yesterday's Worfd with exhibits dating from 1850 to 1950. Historic Hastings offers traditional seaside attractions and nearby Rye, a Cinque Port, is a picturesque town with a castle. Another popular journey back in time is the 9 mile Kent and East Sussex Steam Railway between Bodiam Castle and Tenderden.
