Description
The river Honddu runs on the western boundary, and the majestic Skirrid rises in full view of the site, which is level, green and scattered with mature trees. Abergavenny has a fine castle and market days on Tuesday & Friday. Walkers will be delighted to try out the Offa's Dyke Path, which runs on the border between England and Wales and will give you a good feel for the splendid countryside. There are many other walks, guided or unguided (the Brecon Beacons National Park produces a useful list), and for those who like a walk with a purpose in the evening, there are no fewer than eight pubs in the vicinity, with The Old Pandy Hotel a mere 5oyds stroll away. The area is littered with historical buildings which speak of the unsettled and sometimes battle-tom history of the borders, yet there are religious houses too, which have settled in the peace of the countryside.
