- The site is in a pine plantation, on rising ground, beautifully landscaped with pitches in open clearings separated by trees, making each group of caravans very private and quiet. The adjacent Carsington Reservoir, about 15 minutes walk from the site, is a major tourist attraction providing a variety of leisure facilities including fishing, sailing, windsurfing and childrens playground. The site is a convenient base for walkers wishing to explore the beautiful scenery of Dovedale and the surrounding countryside. The local villages, all with excellent public houses, are within walking distances of two to three miles. As you travel around, look out for examples of Derbyshire's home-grown art, well-dressing - which happens in many villages from May to September.
