Riverside Caravan Club Site
- Description
- In an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this pleasant open site is set in a meadow, and only a half mile riverside walk into the small, friendly town of Wick, once the busiest herring port in Europe. Now tourism is the main industry with the Heritage Centre and the Caithness Glass factory in town where you can watch glass blowers at work. Freshwater, sea and loch fishing are available and nature lovers will love the seabirds and seal colonies off the coast There are delightful walks along beautiful white sandy beaches, but the jewel in the crown is likely to be a day trip to the Orkneys from John O'Groats (14m) with a coach tour of the scenic and historic highlights.
