Tourist Attractions
Just a few miles away at the pretty village of New Abbey, for example, you can visit romantic Sweetheart Abbey, the 18th century water-powered Corn Mill and the Shambellie House Costume Museum. Then, you can enjoy lunch in one of the local pubs and walk it off in nearby Mabie Forest.

Or, heading westwards along the beautiful coast road you might want to divide your day between Kirkcudbright's many art galleries, the Mersehead Nature Reserve and Sulwath Brewery at Castle Douglas.

There are also numerous castles to visit in the area, and, for the most energetic, how about climbing Criffel or a walk on one of the many nearby beaches, or even an afternoon's pony trekking, golf, tennis, sailing or fishing?

These and a host of other attractions and activities are all within easy reach of your comfortable holiday home when you stay at Southerness Holiday Village.
