Grange Caravan Club Site
- Description
- Managed by the Club on behalf of Durham City Council, this is an open and level site with cheerful beds of heather at the entrance, just off the A1(M) and within easy reach of the City of Durham. Many visitors use this as a convenient stop over en route to or from Scotland and its situation makes it a welcome break. But if you decide to stay longer, Durham is only three miles away, dramatically set on its 70-foot rocky semi-island in a hairpin bend of the River Wear. It's steeped in history and the panoramic views from every vantage point must make it one of the most picturesque cities in the UK. For walkers, the County Council arranges a series of guided walks - there's a useful leaflet.
