- Cap Natur' is located in the lively seaside resort of Saint Hilaire de Riez at the heart of the Côte de Lumière. There is a wide range of entertainment on offer (concerts, shows, fireworks displays etc.) and you will enjoy a big family welcome here in the forest only 2 km from the Atlantic Ocean. Not just an invitation to appreciate the open air and the 8 hectares of pine forest, but also the comfortable accommodation and excellent indoor facilities. From April to November you can enjoy direct access from your apartment to the tropical 27° of the indoor swimming pool, or take a refreshing dip in the outside pool before enjoying the benefits of a sauna or the bubbling water of a Jacuzzi. After joining in the activities, your children may like to cool off in the paddling pool or relax with their friends in the forest. Cap Natur' is made for them and they'll want to keep coming back for more.
Activities and entertainment are provided at weekends and during school holidays all year round: archery, aqua-gym, tournaments… organised evenings, book and games libraries. In the summer
it gets even better with music, massage and the children's club.
Cap Natur' is also an invitation to party and have fun. Starting with the Easter Egg Race and continuing right up until the end of October with the 'Halloween Special', you'll wish you could stay all year long. - The Vendée region is blessed with more than 250 days of sunshine per year and mild temperatures throughout the year. Perhaps that's why it is the Number One region for camping holidays in France. There are peaceful walks and spectacular scenery and much more besides.
The Portes du Bocage in the North is a landscape of valleys sculpted by slowly flowing rivers. Look out for the best Muscadet and Gamay vines in the vineyards of Rochservière and Bouaine cantons. Further West, the scenery of Marais Breton, also known as Marais Vendéen, is both rural and coastal. The coastline is ideal for a lovely stroll, in the domaine des paludiers (salt farms) beside the salt marshes, or along the dunes, where varieties of carnations and morning glory abound.
One after the other, the long fine-sand beaches and creeks, the overhanging rocks, the ile de Yeu or the ile de Noirmoutier appear with each step you take. Not to mention the lobsters, fish and great sea food when walking and gastronomy go hand in hand.
Discover the history of the Vendée region over the years: the Chabotterie Logis, the Puy-du-Fou show, the "bourrine" at Le Bois Juquaud (18th century thatched cottage). The superb scenery: the Ile d'Yeu and the Ile de Noirmoutier, the Gois ford, the Corniche and the 5 Pinneaux (geological interest), fresh-water and salt-water marshes, forests and flower gardens. The wonderful food: the seafood, fish and Normoutier potatoes, markets and traditional festivals. - Directions
- By road:
• From the North: from Nantes head towards Bordeaux and leave at exit N° 1 Machecoul - Challans - St-Hilaire de Riez (first exit towards 'centre' then two right turns)
• From the South-West: Niorot - Fontenay-le-Compte - La Roche-sur-Yon - Aizenay - St Gilles-Crois-de-Vie - St-Hilaire-de-Riez (follow St-Hilaire - St-Jean-de-Monts to the first roundabout after the railway - first exit towards 'centre' then two right turns)
By train:
Paris-Montparnasse - Nantes: TGV Atlantique - daily connections to St-Hilaire-de-Riez: TER trains direct from Paris-Montparnasse - St-Hilaire-de-Riez via Nantes from June to the beginning of September. Tell them what time you will be arriving and they'll collect you from the station.
By air:
Nantes-Atlantique Airport is 70 kms away
