The well-known distilleries of Speyside, using the area’s famous springs, are only a stone’s throw from our Club Site. Set on a gentle, south-facing slope, the site is lightly wooded – giving some shade but preserving its open feel. - Tourist Attractions
- The 84-mile-long Speyside Way connects the Moray Coast with the Grampian mountains and passes near the Club Site.
The Whale and Dolphin Conservation Society has a Wildlife Centre in Spey Bay. It has lookout points for dolphins as well as an exhibition and a café.
Elgin has many shops, fine buildings, a cathedral and the Elgin Museum. It is also the start of the Moray Churches Trail.
There are at least 50 distilleries in Speyside – several of which are near the site. The world-famous Macallan Distillery is less than a mile away.
The Speyside Cooperage Visitor Centre shows how the oak casks for whisky and beer are made.
The Strathspey Railway runs steam locomotives from Grantown-on-Spey to Aviemore. The Keith and Dufftown Railway passes through some of Scotland’s most beautiful scenery.
Buckie and Lossiemouth, at either end of Spey Bay, both have fishing museums which are worth a visit.
A funicular railway climbs into the Cairngorm Mountains.
Enjoy the treetop trail and Wild Water Coaster at the Landmark Forest Heritage Park, Carrbridge.
Walker’s Shortbread Factory Shop is in the nearby town of Arberlour.
Ballindalloch – castle home of the Lairds of Ballindalloch – also houses the oldest herd of Aberdeen Angus cattle.
Golf courses can be found at Rothes, Dufftown, Keith and Elgin.
