Description
"Beauty by royal appointment"

Tarland by Deeside has been favoured by royalty for many years. Queen Victoria chose the area for her home at Balmoral in the 1850s and it is still a favourite with the Royal family today. Our Club Site shares the same spectacular scenery.
Tourist Attractions
Balmoral’s estate grounds, gardens and Castle Ballroom are open to visitors during the summer.
For a more traditional experience, you can also enjoy the attractions of Tarland village, just a five-minute walk from the site. it has shops, a bowling green and golf course and is a good starting point for walks, with open views towards Mount Keen, Lochnagar and Morven.
There are lots of local walking trails and the old railway line between Aboyne and Ballater is a good cycle route. The restored Royal Deeside Line offers weekend train trips during the summer from the station (now a visitor centre) next to Crathes Castle.
