Tourist Attractions
New Quay town is three miles to the north. Five or six dolphins can regularly be seen from the beach; as many as 80 have been there at times.
The New Quay Honey Farm is the largest in Wales and has a Meadery.
The Cardigan Bay Marine Wildlife Centre in New Quay tells of the dolphins in the Bay. Visitors can join researchers on dolphin surveys.
Red kites and buzzards are often seen from the site. Find out more at Bwlch Nant Yr Arian Visitor Centre and feeding station.
The Rock Mill is a Grade II listed mill, a working legacy of the last of the working waterwheel-powered Welsh woollenmills.
Walk from the site to the Coastal Path – just over three miles away.
Aberaeron is at the mouth of the River Aeron – one house in four here is listed as being of special interest.
Cardigan is the home of the first National Eisteddfod, an arts festival, in 1176. The Gwyl Fawr Aberteifi is still a major event in the cultural calendar.
The capital of mid-Wales, Aberystwyth, is 25 miles from the site. Now a university town, it is home to the largest Arts Centre in Wales as well as a bustling marina.
Cross Inn, the village near the site, has shops, a Post Office and a friendly pub with good food.
