"At the gateway to the Cotswolds"
The beauty of the Cotswold villages surrounds our site at Chipping Norton. The buildings and churches in golden stone were built on the riches of the woollen trade, and the site itself is an ideal place for a relaxing break. - Tourist Attractions
- The town of Chipping Norton is a bus ride from the site and has a museum, theatre and leisure centre, as well as a number of shops, restaurants and pubs. Many of the latter will be supplied by Hook Norton Brewery, which uses a steam engine and other traditional methods to produce its beer – see for yourself on a guided tour, though you need to book ahead.
Local towns and villages worth seeing include Stow on the Wold; Bourton-on-the-Water, where the attractions include Birdland, the Dragonfly Maze, Perfumery and Motor Museum; and Batsford, near Moreton-in-Marsh, which is home to the Cotswold Falconry Centre and Batsford Arboretum. You can also catch a bus to explore Oxford, Banbury or Stratford-on-Avon.
